Peat-free Neopeat

Neopeat - peat free organic soil amendment comes in dried, easy-to-handle, blocks. Just add water and each block will expand to fill a wheel barrow - about 70 litres (see left).

This organic amendment comes from coir (coconut husk), and will improve the physical and biological make up of clay or sandy soils. It improves sandy soils by increasing moisture and nutrient retention. And it improves the structure of clay soils, which greatly helps drainage.

Coir is a renewable material and is much more environmentally friendly than peat. Because it retains moisture so well it is also suitable for use in hanging baskets.

One block per 10 m2 is a useful guide in deciding how much to use for improving soils, so for example, 5 blocks will be needed for 50m2.
